Fez: Queen of Cities

About MACCLA:

The purpose of the Moroccan American Cultural Center, Los Angeles (MACCLA) is to preserve and foster an understanding of the cross-cultural experiences of the Moroccan American community by embracing the uniqueness and commonalities that are present in both Moroccan and American cultures.

MACCLA's goal is to communicate the importance of embracing diversity while celebrating cultural similarities through educational programs, cultural events, and exhibits.

Admission to all performances is free of charge.

Los Angeles, USA - November 15th 8:00PM at UCLA Royce Hall

This event is free, but tickets are required. Tickets may be picked up in advance at UCLA's Central Ticket Office located near the James West Alumni Center, 325 Westwood Plaza. Tickets on the evening of the performance will also be available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The Los Angeles performance is being presented in conjunction with two other events:

• "Fez, Morocco, Crossroads of Knowledge and Power: Celebrating 1200 Years of Urban Life" being held November 14 - 15, 2008 at UCLA and UC-Riverside. http://www.international.ucla.edu/calendar/showevent.asp?eventid=6834

• "Essence: The Heat of Morocco in Color" features paintings by Elana Kundell. A reception on November 16th will include performances by several of the musicians from Fez: Queen of Cities in collaboration with the Moroccan American Cultural Center, Los Angeles. The exhibition will take place at Studio Channel Islands Art Center, on the campus of California State University at Channel Islands in Camarillo, CA (Building 18, Ventura Street).
